i was surprise to learn that those delicate thai designs on the royal barges are made from cardboard paper … the designs are cut out from cardboard, painted with latex to make it waterproof , then coated with gold leafs …
other booths are hanumarn mask, stain glass mosaic, silver flowers, ‘ boom-ma-lai ‘ ( jasmin flower wreath ? ) … there’s also traditional thai massages, fortune tellers, silk cloth , live music and food ….

i found myself a design advisor , a pesky 8 year old …. she didn’t like my mobile pouch, said it’s ” lor mark ” ( meaning , very one dozen , as in cheap bags sold by the dozen ) … i was tempted to bury her head in the school’s sand box , but figure i didn’t want to get in trouble with her mom … anyways , she’s one frank girl, gives out opinions full of confidence …. i showed her my new wallet and held my breathe in anticipation …. she looked over it , nodded and said , ” this one is good , i like it . ” …. see ? i really should bring a book along with me when i go pick the kids up or i end up doing stuffs like this to kill time ….

mix them all up , till smooth … cook in teflon pan … when it’s not sticky to the touch , it’s done …
now the fun part , which will buy you an hour of free time , is to ask them to make cakes for their bakery … give them the real utensils , pans, tins, rolling pins … i even handed them sprinkles … ( of course, they should be told not to eat them with the playdough )
