and the contractor plus his team will be here. I’m now in the most difficult stage of packing, dealing with all the left-overs that have missed their boxes, oddly shaped objects that doesn’t fit in any boxes, stuffs that’s too old but haven’t the heart to throw away because of the memories attached to it.

Long time no blog
We are moving because sometime after Chinese New Year, the contractor’s coming to renovate the place. Where are we moving ? Just 2 floors up XD
So, there is packing to do and also a bag to be completed. I found out that once something is packed, sealed , and placed in the storage room, some one will need to use that ’something’ right that evening. Also , on labeling boxes, slapping on labels that says ” Books “, ” More Books”, ” Even More Books” may be funny at the moment, but I truly regret it now !!

Healthy Cakes
100% zero calories ! These are new year’s gifts stitched up for friends. I followed the instructions on this Japanese crafts book –> Felt Sweets Collection ( The author’s web page is Princess Ichigo and you can see a picture of the book’s cover there and also some DIY kits she sells. ) In the book there are some felt cookies and chocolates ? They look so real !!! Makes me HUNGRY.
There were only 3 versions of these tiny cake boxes, so I adapted some of the patterns to make more. The boxes are just 4×4cms.

Flashbacks from the ’70s
Rotary telephone, milk in glass bottle, and “g” for “gun” !

Thanks to mom, she kept some toys from our childhood for us. I was going to give away the kids’ set of flash cards, well, now maybe not. Just imagine, the kids, when they grow up and presumbly have their own kids, will have 3 sets of flash cards, each representing a generation. I vote flash cards as family heirloom. Now excuse me while I go google for ways to keep them in tip top condition.

Happy New Ear ( ? )
Somewhat belated. I spent New Year’s Eve backing up files. Not a very exciting life , huh? Anyways, the temple across the street was having a countdown. Seriously. Ever since the last temple fair, they’ve updated their sound system, so I get Karma Delivery airwaved into my house. I can hear all the preachings, prayers crispy clear. I’m not complaining, these are good vibes. I take these over the tour bus music the neighbourhood teens subject me to anytime.
The chantings were quite jumpy when the whole city started setting off fireworks. It sounded like bombs are going off while monks are chanting. Weirdest sound combination I’ve ever heard.
